Product Description
Ideal for singer-songwriters and guitarists, the third-generation Focusrite Scarlett Solo is a 2×2 USB audio interface offering high-performance hardware, customizable mic tone, and a creative software bundle. The improved Scarlett microphone preamp features switchable phantom power and a selectable Air circuit, which adds brightness based on Focusrite’s legendary ISA preamplifier. In addition to the XLR mic input, the Scarlett Solo provides a single 1/4″ input with an instrument/line switch that allows it to accept signal from a guitar, bass, synthesizer, or drum machine.
24-bit / 192 kHz converters ensure that signals are captured and reproduced with detail and clarity. Listen through headphones or connect active speakers to the balanced 1/4″ monitor outputs. Since the Scarlett Solo is powered via USB, you can take it anywhere your Mac or Windows computer can go. The extensive software bundle includes music production software, virtual instruments, plug-in effects, loops, and more—plenty of tools to kick-start your inspiration.

I play guitar in my spare time and don’t know the first thing about getting set up with a DAW or the logistics of recording my music or even getting it to play through my headphones. Other approaches I’ve seen have been extremely confusing, intimidating, and finicky to someone like me who knows nothing about the correct gear for this stuff.
Not only does this seem to be working perfectly, but the series of tutorials Focusrite has created made it extremely simple for me to get set up, plugged in, and jamming in no time.
I can’t speak to this product as a professional musician, but if you’re a dummy like me you’ve certainly come to the right place!
Lightweight, compact, stylish, latest and best-in-class sound card
I used the interface to record vocals and guitar and am very pleased with the results. Both the XLR and Line inputs deliver a nice clean signal and the direct monitoring is clear and concise.
Pros – Solid metal casing with easy to use controls, all inputs, XLR, Line & Headphone are at the front for easy access. Great clean signal/sound & direct monitoring.
Con – No on/off switch so I have to unplug the usb cable when not in use.
I am extremely pleased and impressed with this interface and would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Love the miniature Solo model. Best features for me are: the new Air preamp, +48 phantom power and balanced TRS monitor outputs. Great for personal use. Works as a charm with Ableton Live!
