Description
The ULTRA DI DI100 is an active, phantom powered direct box. Unlike a passive DI where the frequency response of the signal can be altered depending on the connected impedance, an active DI buffers the input signal with an amplifier. This assures that the sound source will reach the mixer balanced and noise-free.
Road Warrior DI
The Behringer Ultra-DI DI100 Battery/Phantom Powered DI Box is a road warrior. Studio warrior, too. Onstage and in the studio, the DI100 handles the all-important task of converting your unbalanced guitar, bass, and keyboard sources into the noise-free balanced signals your console wants to see. The only reason I would not give this product 5 stars is that it is not a top-of-the-line Direct Box. This is a solid, feature-rich box. . . probably the best box in this price range.

I use this product for small live sound events and it works great. I love the versatility of being able to use phantom power or power it with a 9v if phantom isn’t available. It is also very durable and can handle being transported without the risk of damage.

Our church obtained a new electronic organ which was having issues when plugged into the sound system through a passive direct box. The organ would not function properly while connected, much less put sound out over the system. My instinctive thought was that the power output of the organ was not adequate to drive the sound to the main amp. Not knowing much about the technical side of it, I purchased this direct box after much research and deliberation. Anyway, it just arrived and it works flawlessly! I am very pleased.
