Serato Stems integration – split the acapella/instrumental of a track
Take your mixes to the next level with Serato Stems. Offering deep integration with Serato Stems, the RANE FOUR provides real-time audio source separation allowing you to split tracks into acapella and instrumental versions at the touch of a button. Dedicated buttons for ‘Acapella’ and ‘Instrumental’ allow you to instantly split tracks into their vocal and instrumental parts; opening up a whole new world of live remixing opportunities.
Using the ‘Stem-Split’ button, the track will be split across two deck layers of the mixer section, allowing you to chop up vocal samples on the fly. You can even add independent FX to each part of the stems or chop the track up using the onboard performance pads.
Expanded internal FX suite with dynamic control options
Enhanced and revamped; the internal FX suite of the RANE FOUR now includes 22 paddle-triggered ‘Main FX’ as well as four knob-controlled ‘Channel FX’. Providing you with a wide variety of effects to choose from, the RANE FOUR includes everything from classic reverb and echo algorithms to new additions such as: Riser, Recycler, Scale Down and more. There are dedicated buttons for a range of effects including controls to BPM-lock your effects. It even features a built-in screen that displays the ‘Main FX’ settings such as time signature, BPM and the effect name.
With four rotary ‘Channel FX’ knobs you can dial in your desired effect with ease. Providing hands-on control of the four effects, you can utilize: Filter, Filter Roll, Noise and Flanger settings. The seamless integration with Serato’s software FX, means you can instantly switch between Serato FX and the FOUR’s bult-in hardware FX.
Four-channel design with enhanced mixer section
Building on the design of other RANE DJ controllers, the RANE FOUR features all the powerful functions, controls and design aspects that make RANE gear so sought after. The four-channel design features 8.5-inch capacitive jog wheels, designed to offer a fluid feel and superior accuracy compared to conventional jog wheel designs. Each jog wheel also features a high-resolution center display that provides track information such as BPM, pitch percentage and more. It even features an overview of the waveform including Hot Cue markers, song key, loop size etc. The jog wheels features capacitive static platters for optimal precision, tracking every movement no matter how small.
Each of the four channels features a three-band EQ as well as a dedicated section for the microphone comprised of an ‘Echo’ control, a two-band EQ and gain control. It also features a wide variety of useful controls including pitch bend buttons, key adjust and even a ‘Censor’ button that will reverse the record when pressed and held so you can create clean versions of songs on the fly. There is even a dedicated switch for toggling between the two USB connections sources for added flexibility.
RGB performance pads with OLED screens
Another new and exciting feature of the RANE FOUR is the introduction of OLED visual displays for the performance pads. With 16 RGB backlit performance pads in total, the RANE FOUR features four separate displays on each deck, providing instant visual feedback for all pad modes. This means you can set pad functions without having to switch between the computer and the controller for a seamless playing experience. The pad screens include Cue, Loop and Sample names as well as Roll and Loop lengths and beat divisions. The performance pads themselves can be used for everything from incorporating sound FX and custom DJ tags to finger-drumming and live remixing using the ‘Split-Stem’ functionality.
