Description
The Behringer Ultra-G GI-100 DI Box provides direct connection of electric guitars to recording and live sound reinforcement consoles. The DI Box also features speaker simulation designed by Juergen Rath. The DI box emulates a 4 x 12″ speaker cabinet so there is no need to mic an actual speaker. Additional features include an internal battery with automatic shut-off whenever phantom power is present and rugged construction.
Portable Rock Power
The GI100 works just like a standard DI box; you can plug your guitar directly into the GI100 and get amazingly-clear sound to the console. But, the similarity to other DI boxes ends there; the GI100 can tap into your amplifier’s speaker outputs, even high-powered rigs with ratings of up to 3,000 Watts. Plus, you can switch on the unbelievably realistic 4 x 12 cabinet simulation (designed by renowned engineer Juergen Rath) and you’ve got rock-royalty sized tone in a package the size of a cheeseburger! Sound that is so good, you just may decide to not mic your real speakers ever again!

I use ths GI-100 for rehearsals and for performances where lugging around heavy guitar amps is just not practical. I just plug my signal chain into it and go to the nearest mixing console. It produces believable cabinet simulation that is VERY rich-sounding. Overall construction seems fine.

I go straight from my pedal board into the GI-100 and then right into the nearest mixing console. The GI-100 gives me passable big-stack tone and I don’t have to haul a heavy tube amp around with me. I can now do a gig with just my guitar and a couple of stomp boxes provide the venue has a decent PA system.
