Description

Styled in a black finish, the Ibanez GIO Series GAX30 is an electric guitar with a double-cutaway poplar body and a maple neck. Atop the 24.7” scale neck sits a bound fingerboard fashioned out of treated New Zealand pine. This fingerboard offers 22 medium frets with an acrylic white block inlay.

For electronics, this guitar is outfitted with a pair of Infinity R humbucking pickups courtesy of Ibanez. A volume and tone knob are provided for calibrating your timbre, as is a three-way pickup selector switch. Strings are affixed to the body by means of a Full Tune III tune-o-matic style bridge and a corresponding Full Tune III tailpiece. You’ll note the chrome hardware employed throughout.
The GAX30 is an AX series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2018. It is a continuation of the model in production since 2003, but with several important changes. It is part of the entry-level GIO line.

The GAX30 features a poplar body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret treated New Zealand pine fingerboard with white acrylic block position markers. Components include dual Ibanez Infinity R humbucking pickups and a Full Tune III Tune-O-Matic style bridge and tailpiece and a small black pickguard.

For 2019 the poplar body was switched to basswood and the treated New Zealand pine fretboard was swapped for jatoba. For 2020 the bridge was changed to the new Gibraltar Performer.

The earlier GAX30 had an integrated bridge, white dot fretboard inlays, a slightly different pickguard shape and a lever-style pickup selector
