The Tascam US-122 allowed me to produce years of radio interviews and performed flawlessly. Unfortunately Tascam/Frontier opted to not write new drivers and that obsoleted the USB Adapter. This little box was the perfect replacement and does a great job. It is my workaround for a noisy telephone line with DSL service. Over IP with the UMC22, audio is excellent.

This is a great little box! I’m a professional producer/engineer and needed a small, portable interface to record live webcasts and seminars. This unit fit the bill perfectly. The preamp sounds really, really good! Nice headroom, transparent, low noise and enough gain for most applications. Direct monitoring and robust construction are also a plus. All for an incredibly low price! If you need a small, portable, great sounding interface this is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!

It was hard giving up my old Joe Meek mic preamp and my M-Audio 1010, but since the card was always having issues with Adobe Premiere the use of USB interface made all the difference in the world. We do have a audio-technica AT2020 USB mic at the studio, but never cared much for the quality of sound it produced. Now with U-Phoria UMC22 we are able to use several of our better quality traditional mics in conjunction with the UMC22.

The adapter performs beautifully. For a single mic application, this was a great buy. Small, lightweight, USB powered and easy to operate. Updated Tascam/Frontier US-122 drivers would have powered through Apple’s twisted desire to obsolete hardware, but oh well. I’m really grateful B&H had this product at a great price. It’s an easy path to quality audio over IP and side-stepping poor telephone quality. To use a good microphone into a USB audio input, the UMC22 works really well.
