V25 25-Keys Compact Controller with Real Key Feel
V25 is Loaded with full-sized, synth-action keys, the V25 USB MIDI keyboard controller is perfect for using with virtual instruments, plug-ins, and other applications. You get the feel of large keys with a square front in a compact controller. Eight backlit, velocity- and pressure-sensitive LED pads let you tap out rhythms, trigger loops, and play synthesizers.
A quartet of assignable knobs and buttons give you the power to map almost any function of your plug-ins to a tactile controller. Add that to the pitch and mod wheel, and you have a controller that’s ready to take charge of your software. A single USB cable sends MIDI data and provides power to your keyboard. It also includes Ableton Live Lite 9 and a Software Preset/Parameter utility.

The Alesis V25 USB MIDI keyboard controller puts a wide selection of controls at your fingertips. First, there are the full-size keys themselves, all 25 of which give you velocity-sensitive control. You also get 8 backlit, velocity-sensitive drum pads let you tap out rhythms and trigger loops. Above the pads are 4 illuminated, assignable knobs and 4 illuminated, assignable buttons that can be programmed to control the parameters of your favorite virtual instruments. Add that to the pitch and modulation wheels and you have a controller that is ready to take on any project.

I have been making my electronic music for about two years now. As a professional musician, I have used Alesis products before. The price seemed almost too good to be true… But lets get to it… Out of the box, this midi keyboard feels solid, all be it, light in weight. The construction seems of higher quality. The pads have a nice rubber coating, and don’t have the cheap feel of some other units in this price range. The keys (25 of them) have accelerometer ability, adding a nice aspect to creating music. A single USB chord serves as the power, and the data connection. The nobs are also of nice quality. Great construction, ease of use, seems like a pro midi controller. All in all the unit has some great features, and is surprising given its price. I would highly recommend for the DJ that’s just starting, right up to moderately experienced. It feels good, isn’t too large, and would be a fantastic addition to your home studio.

The Alesis V25 is a simple and quality built unit that integrated seamlessly into my system. The weighted keys provide excellent tactile feedback. For anyone looking for a sturdy compact midi controller with great features at a price that won?t break the bank the Alesis V25 is an outstanding value. USB Plug and play all the way!

I bought this controller to have a MIDI keyboard with full size piano keys that wouldn’t take over my desk with a bunch of features I don’t need – I just want to focus on tickling the digital ivories! Overall the V25 is only slightly larger than my computer keyboard and fits neatly in my setup. Very simple to get connected, just plug in the USB cable no drivers needed. The included copy of Ableton Live Lite is of course wonderful, and more than enough to get you started. The build quality of the V25 overall is very solid, my only extremely minor complaint would be the way the LED lighting pours out around the pitch and modulation wheels – I keep my room generally very dark making the light spilling out from this part of the keyboard more obvious, but not enough to hurt an otherwise perfect 5-star rating from me!
