With these ROKIT 5’s, it seems like I can get a good feel for what the mix will sound like in all different applications, which is really impressive considering how much they cost!

Great near field monitors. I’ve used larger studio monitors in a home studio for some time, but was sorely missing the clarity of a good pair of near field monitors. In the past we had some Yamaha NS10’s for mixing, but these have long since departed. I finally broke down and tried a pair of these little KRK 5’s, they were just what I was looking for. A little less brash than the NS10, but still very balanced. They allow distinguishing and putting a magnifying glass on each area of the mix equally, which is exactly what I needed. They aren’t the greatest sounding speakers for just listening to a groove, but I don’t think they were designed to be. As a near field monitor, however, they are very honest to the mix. I would highly recommend these.

I bought 2. They don’t sound good, they sound perfect. Outstanding imaging, like wearing really good headphones. The headroom is amazing….and so far the’ve impressed me on everything I’ve thrown at them. Hip hop, rock, alt rock, classical. I’ll be getting a sub to mix down hip hop beats, but i don’t think it would be necessary for most music. They aren’t warm and fuzzy speakers. They reproduce sound the way it was originally mixed and allow you to make great mix downs.

Bass crazy.. will sound best after broken in.. will sound amazing if professionally fitted into studio.. although DIY well done sound setup will greatly improve how they sound.. very loud very Well balanced Highs and Mids, the deep end is where these puppies really move air along.. Setup properly your bass traps and you might avoid the sub. But a subpac and these monitors would be a very very interesting option
