Tech-Free Zone
The P16-M’s simple user interface makes it easy for even non-techies to dial-in the perfect monitor mix. For example, let’s say the electric guitar is too loud in the lead vocalist’s mix; they simply press the appropriate channel button (the one labeled E. GTR) and turn the Volume control to lower the guitar level in their mix. They can also adjust Pan (left to right mix), EQ (Bass, Mid with sweepable Freq control and Treble), and much more. All of these adjustments can be made without affecting anyone else’s personal mix.
Easy Installation
A basic installation consists of one P16-I Input Module, which connects to the main mixing console, and up to six P16-M Personal Mixers, creating a system big enough to equip a typical recording studio, a small to medium-sized band, or a worship team. You’ll also need a few standard audio and CAT5 cables. The optional P16- MB mounting bracket allows the P16-M Digital Personal Mixer to be attached to any standard microphone, music or drum stand. The system can easily be expanded via the P16-D Digital ULTRANET Distributor, six of which can be combined to drive up to forty-eight P16-M Personal Mixers.

They were affordable and work very well. All the musicians have control over their own mix. An absolute necessity now that I’m using these. No more hey, can you turn me up? They sound great. There’s no discernible latency. They have 16 individual channels with volume, pan, and EQ. You can group channels together, and link stereo channels. My only quibble is the EQ could be a little more surgical, but I’m not going to complain about that. Just great bang for the buck and a studio essential

After several weeks in a row of monitor train-wrecks, I decided it was time to pull the trigger on in-ear monitoring for our church band. Everyone was a little skeptical because they had tried an Audio-Technica system previously (mixed from the board) and it was disaster. But after just a few minutes of setup and tweaking at our first rehearsal with the Behringer system, everyone was singing its praises! It’s easy to get started, but you can significantly improve the sound with some work on the EQ and stereo spread. We’re still fine-tuning the details, and it’s getting better all the time. Not only has our comfort and confidence on stage improved, the house sound is much better as the mains are no longer competing with monitor wedges in a small room. The personal mixers are solidly built with an intuitive interface. The input and distributer modules are as simple and straightforward as you can imagine. Plug in and play! So far, the only thing I don’t like is being tethered to a headphone cable. But a 25′ extension gives me room to roam. And even the much higher priced systems have the same issue. So if you’re looking to get into in-ear monitoring without and breaking the bank, this Behringer system is well worth checking out.

We purchased the Behringer Powerplay 16 to minimize sound volumes on our stage area and to allow our congregation’s worship leader to better balance the mix of the band and vocalists. The Powerplay eliminated an at times overwhelming stage volume, improving the quality of sound during worship services. And the capabilities for our worship leader to adjust his own mix have begun to streamline our practice time.
